Imed Hammouda has been awarded the Pedagogical Prize
Imed Hammouda, programme manager for the bachelor's programme in Software Engineering and Management, has been awarded the IT Faculty Pedagogical Prize of 2017.
The motivation for the award:
"Imed Hammouda has contributed in numerous ways to further development of the bachelor’s programme in Software Engineering and Management. By utilising his high visibility as programme manager both to the students and the teachers, he has actively been gathering feedback, ensuring it is taken into account on all levels. Imed has created a safe learning environment based on respect and inclusion, which at the same time simulates the dynamics of real world industrial projects.
Imed has also been pursuing new teaching ideas, in collaboration with colleagues both inside and outside of the Department. One of the outcomes is a pedagogical paper, recognised with the Best Paper Award at the Software Engineering and Education Track of ICSE 2016."
The IT Faculty received three nominations for the pedagogical prize. A review group consisting of the Heads of Department for undergraduate education made a proposal, which was submitted to the IT Faculty Dean's Council and the IT Faculty Board. In the end the choice fell on Imed Hammouda. Imed will receive the award during the IT Faculty Spring Ceremony on June 7, 2017.
