Nordic Gender Fund open for applications

The call for applications to the Nordic Gender Fund is now open. The purpose of the fund is to strengthen infrastructure in the Nordic region for research on gender and other power structures. The call is open from 15 October to 15 November.  

Since the late 1990s, the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research at the University of Gothenburg has followed up on key issues in the field of gender research, as well as on general policy issues relating to research infrastructure. The Nordic Gender Fund is a continuation of this work.   

The purpose of the fund is to strengthen infrastructure for research in the Nordic region on norms, ideas and structures that reproduce and maintain inequalities based on, for example, gender, race/ethnicity, sexuality, class and age.    

Who can apply for funding?  

Eligible applicants are doctoral students or PhD researchers affiliated with a higher education institution in one of the Nordic countries or in the three autonomous territories of the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.     

Support is given to activities to start up or strengthen;

1) scientific networks 

2) organisation of scientific conferences 

3) scientific journals 

4) other activities that promote research infrastructure, as identified by the applicant 

The application must apply to activities between January 1 and December 31, 2025.  Support is not given to individual research projects.   

A total of SEK 500 000 will be allocated this year.   

The call opens on October 15 and closes on November 15, 2024 at 15:00 CET.
