Stefan Tengblad Appointed New Director of CGHRM

Stefan Tengblad har blivit ny föreståndare för Centrum för Global HRM och kommer att leda samarbetet med partners för att utveckla HR-funktionens värdeskapande.

Stefan Tengblad has been appointed as the new director of the Center for Global HRM (CGHRM) and will lead the collaboration with partners to enhance the value creation of the HR function.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Stefan Tengblad has been appointed as the new director of the Center for Global HRM (CGHRM) as of July 1, 2024. The decision was made by the university's vice-chancellor, Malin Broberg. In his new role, Tengblad will combine his professorship in HRM with the collaboration between CGHRM and its partners, as well as other stakeholders in the labor market.

Stefan Tengblad sees great potential in strengthening the connection between CGHRM's research and the work of partner organizations in developing the value creation of the HR function. His ambition is for CGHRM to support partners in integrating People and Strategy, with research on work environment, digitalization, HR organization, skills supply, leadership, and employee engagement playing a crucial role in this effort.

Based on the results of the Cranet survey, Tengblad believes that while Swedish working life is strong in HRM, there is potential for improvement in the People area. To enhance employees' skills, motivation, and loyalty—and thereby improve organizational quality—there needs to be a clearer focus on employees as individuals. There is a need to prepare for the future in these areas.

Upon taking office, Tengblad also wishes to thank the previous director, administrative coordinators, and members of the steering group and advisory board for their work, and he specifically highlights honorary doctor Kjell Svenson as a significant asset to CGHRM.

CGHRM looks forward to welcoming more partners in the future. The activities will be flexible, with an emphasis on the Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Skåne regions, and with a focus on developing HR/People functions within Swedish working life, Tengblad concludes.
