Svante Prado appointed Broman scholar 2024

The Broman Foundation for Research and Entrepreneurship has decided to appoint Svante Prado as one of a total of five scholarship recipients in 2024. The Broman scholarship concerns research with a main focus on Entrepreneurship and the researchers receive SEK 343,800 each for their research projects.

Svante Prado is Associate Professor in Economic History and works at the Department of Economy and Society, School of Business, Economics and Law, at the University of Gothenburg. The scholarship will go towards his research project "Industrial policy lessons from economic history". The project aims to publish an anthology at an international book publisher on what Economic History can teach us about industrial policy, which is once again in vogue to solve some of the big challenges of our time.

Svante Prado conducts research related to long-term changes in employment, prices, growth, productivity and wages. The research has touched Sweden since the middle of the nineteenth century and in a comparative perspective.
