Concept advancement: Circular economy and heritage practices

Circular economy means understanding resource management as circular systems, which resonates well with Swedish heritage policy and practice. However, the circular economy/heritage sector nexus mainly focuses on material heritage. There is no professional consensus on how place characteristics and social values can also constitute resources in economic value chains. Focusing on the reuse of 20th-century architectural places, we seek to articulate what circularity is and can be, for heritage professionals in the circular economy.
