In their own voices
Research project
Short description
Sexual harassment occurs among youth athletes in their sports team or club, but research is lacking in the area.
One exception is our quantitative CIF project, which has already shown that sexual harassment is common in organized sport. At the same time, our research has led to new questions about how young people themselves understand and think about sexual harassment, something that can never be fully understood from survey data. This project aims to gain a deeper understanding of sexual harassment among youth athletes based on young people's own voices. We will interview 20 15–18-year-old athletes about their experiences and thoughts on sexual harassment and analyze the data with thematic analysis.
