University of Gothenburg

Objectives

In accordance with the decision of the Vice-Chancellor on 17 October 2011, CHEGU is an organization that seeks to promote cooperation between researchers working in the field of health economics at the University of Gothenburg, the Nordic School of Public Health, Chalmers’ University of Technology, the Västra Götaland region, and industry.

CHEGU also acts as a common contact body in relation to external parties. CHEGU seeks to initiate and support education and research and to actively collaborate with society at large in the field of health economics.

CHEGU has the following responsibilities within its health-economics field of focus:

  • to provide a forum for researchers and research students at the University of Gothenburg
  • to act as a point of contact in relation to outside professionals and interest groups
  • to further the development of an international contact network
  • to contribute to the long-term development of skills in education and research at the University of Gothenburg
  • to support advances in health-economics knowledge in particular disciplines at the University of Gothenburg
  • to stimulate and initiate multi-disciplinary cooperation
  • to stimulate and initiate healt-economics cooperation with researchers at other universities nationally and internationally
  • to stimulate, initiate and when required, coordinate courses in health economics at the University of Gothenburg
  • to further the development of health-economics perspectives within existing courses at the University of Gothenburg
  • to provide documentation of health-economics research and education conducted at the University of Gothenburg
  • to inform about health-economics education and research at the University of Gothenburg as well as research findings, and
  • to take actively part in raising funds for financing health-economics activities at the University of Gothenburg.
