Honorary Doctors
Those who have had great significance for research or education at the Faculty of Science, or otherwise contributed to the knowledge of our faculty, can be appointed an honorary doctorate by the Faculty. An honorary doctorate may also be appointed to those who otherwise deserves a PhD, through the efforts of faculty interests.

Barry Costa-Pierce
Barry Costa-Pierce, a world leading researcher in sustainable aquaculture and ocean food development, has been appointed an honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Science. Barry Costa-Pierce have been a senior advisor for the trans-disciplinary research center, SWEMARC at the University of Gothenburg, from the start. Read the announcement.
Jeanine Olsen
Jeanine Olsen, researcher in marine evolutionary biology, has been appointed an honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Science. Jeanine Olsen has collaborated closely with the University of Gothenburg in her research on different species of brown algae and seagrass. Svante Hultengren
Biologist and physical geographer Svante Hultengren has been appointed honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Science. Svante Hultengren is a versatile biologist with lichens as his main interest. Over the years, he has taught, supervised graduate students and participated in research at the University of Gothenburg. Read the announcement.
