The Faculty of Social Sciences has the highest number of undergraduates in the University. Many of the most popular programmes at the University of Gothenburg are to be found here. Research comprises everything from individual behaviour to international relations. Some of the research, i. e. on democracy and ageing, is internationally renowned.

Organisation

Organisation of the Faculty The Faculty of Social Sciences consists of seven departments and several centres and research institutes. Management

All major decisions made by the Board are first addressed in one of the faculty's preparatory bodies: for education, research and postgraduate education, as well as for academic posts.

The Heads of Department's Council

The Heads of Department's Council is the faculty's forum for the heads of the organisation; the dean together with the vice-dean and vice-dean for the entire faculty and the heads of the departments within the faculty.

Committees and networks

In addition to management and preparatory bodies, there are several committees and networks within the faculty for coordination, exchange of experience and discussion of department-wide issues.

Office

The faculty's office provides administrative support to the faculty's management and various bodies.

Student participation

Students are represented on the Board of Directors, the Head of Department Council, the review bodies and two of the committees.
