KK2

In the middle of Campus Linné is what from the beginning of the 20th century was the city’s maternity ward and gynecology clinic. Today you will find the School of Global Studies' office and here, together with the faculty office.

The name KK2 derives from the fact that in 1939 the city built a new gynecology clinic at the Sahlgrenska Hospital. The clinic at Linnéplatsen then became second clinic (KK2). In 1968, the maternity ward was moved to another hospital. The University of Gothenburg took over the lease in the mid-1990s. The School of Global Studies moved in here in 2005 and about ten years later the Faculty Office also was situated here.

In Annedalsseminariet, primary school teachers were trained from the middle of the 19th century and a century onwards. The house was rebuilt in 1975 and turned to a nursing school and later Annedal's adult high school. Today, the building's teaching rooms are shared between the School of Global Studies and the Department of Journalism, Media and Communications. The annex next to Annedalsseminariet was originally the school's gymnasium. There, the faculty now has the university's largest ALC hall.

The then School of Journalism became part of the Faculty of Social Sciences as the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication in the late 1970-ies. Specifically for the needs of this department, Mediehuset (the Media House) was completed in 2007.
