In this course, you will delve into the specialization of teaching and learning in higher education, recognizing its status as a rapidly growing field of scientific research and development. You will explore both possibilities and challenges, addressing institutional conditions, form, and function relevant to adult learning in higher education. The course covers theoretical and methodological foundations in research about higher education. Additionally, in relation to your own research field and research interest, you will discuss current issues within the field and critically examine various perspectives on higher education and their implications.
The course is conducted in English, fully online and runs half-time. It entails reviewing literature, attending lectures and seminars, as well as completing individual and group assignments as part of the course requirements.
Prerequisites and selection
Entry requirements
Admission to the course requires awarded bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits or equivalent degree. Furthermore, the student must demonstrate proficiency in English equivalent English 6 (Swedish upper secondary school level) or English B with at least passed result or through an international test in English with requirements on lowest result: TOEFL paper: 575 or with computer: 213 or a Bachelor's degree that has been given in English.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
