Amanda Ramsälv is a PhD candidate in journalism, media and communication.
Ramsälv holds a BA degree in practical Philosophy and a master´s degree in Media and Communication studies (including master level practical Philosophy focusing on democracy), both from University of Gothenburg. In addition, she holds a journalist education from University of Lund. Ramsälv has experience from working as a freelance journalist focusing on issues of journalism and democracy. She has also worked as a researcher´s assistant for two years within various media and communication research projects.
The project Epistemologies of digital news journalism (Oscar Westlund, Mats Ekström & Seth C. Lewis) is she still a part of.
Research area
- Ethnographic newsroom research – the societal function of journalism as producer of knowledge
Teaching
Amanda teaches courses in media and communication as well as the journalism program.
