Christina Löfving is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Applied IT. She investigates how student digital competence is catered for in practice in primary and secondary schools. Her thesis, soon to be defended, provides proposals for how policymakers, school organizers and school leaders can provide helpful conditions for teachers to cater for this kind of competence. Her research contributes to the field of curriculum studies and school digitalization, where didactics and pedagogy are important parts.
Background: Christina Löfving holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Education, specializing in School Development. She is a lecturer in teacher and principal education and has a lengthy background as a teacher and school leader. She is part of the interdisciplinary graduate school in educational science, CUL, in Gothenburg and the Swedish national-wide research school, Upgrade, on teacher education and the digitalization of the school system. Additionally, she is part of the international research team, Reconfigurations of Educational In/Equality in a Digital World (RED), with scholars from Africa, Europe and Latin America.
