Being a doctoral student
You will present your research results at a higher seminar at the beginning, middle and end of your research studies. At these seminars, you will receive comments and feedback aimed at supporting you in the dissertation, and to prepare you for the defense of your dissertation. You are also expected to attend seminars and guest lectures.
Supervisor
When a doctoral student is admitted to postgraduate education, the department, in consultation with the doctoral student, appoints a main supervisor and an assistant supervisor. The doctoral student is then associated with one of the research environments at the department.
The main supervisor shall, within the framework of his/her position, guide the doctoral student through the postgraduate education, both in terms of courses but above all in the dissertation. The main supervisor is also involved in updating the individual study plan.
Examiner
The task of the examiner is, together with the main supervisor, to ensure that the doctoral student meets the objectives set for the program, and to examine and approve courses in the postgraduate program. The examiner should also be involved in the follow-up of the doctoral student's studies and the individual study plan.
