Building research capacity in Rwanda
We collaborate with the University of Rwanda on a capacity building project funded by Sida.
The School of Global studies has since 2003 collaborated with the University of Rwanda on a capacity-building project funded by Sida. The project provides institutional support for the construction of sustainable, national research capacity in Rwanda, which is achieved through research training, development of a long-term research strategy, and increased research collaboration. Our main partner in cooperation is the Center for Conflict Management (CCM) at the University of Rwanda.
The project includes:
- support in starting and running a PhD programme in Peace, Conflict, and Security at CCM in Kigali;
- supporting Postdoc fellows;
- and strengthening the research capacity at CCM through joint activities such as research seminars, publications, and grant applications.
The coordinating entity is the International Science Programme (ISP) at Uppsala University, and more information about the overall programme is provided on this link.
