Visit to Bolivia in connection to the start of the PhD programme
The PhD programme was inaugurated at UMSS in Cochabamba in May 2023, and in September of that year, the team at the School of Global Studies visited UMSS for different kinds of programme activities and to create a good ground for collaboration.
Anders Burman, coordinator on the Swedish side, held coordination and planning meetings with the PhD students, supervisors, the academic committee, the coordinator of the program Carmen Ledo and the Vice chancellor of UMSS Julio Medina.
Ruy Blanes and Dan Rosengren, supervisors, lecturers and course coordinators, gave a course about Theoretical traditions in the Social Sciences on the UMSS campus. All the 10 PhD students participated. During their stay at UMSS in the also held supervision meetings with their respective PhD students and co-supervisors.
Erik Andersson held a one-week workshop on doctoral supervision for UMSS staff and supervisors of the programme. Approximately 20 supervisors participated. The workshop was very appreciated by the approximately 20 participants.
The administrative coordinator Gunilla Blomqvist Sköldberg introduced the PhD students and staff at UMSS to the School of Global Studies and the PhD students’ future visits to Sweden. She further informed about different administrative routines related to these visits.
The visit was very appreciated by both Swedish and Bolivian teams and lay good ground for fruitful cooperation during the forthcoming years.
