Since the late 1990s, the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research at the University of Gothenburg has pursued important issues in the field of gender research, as well as overarching policy issues related to research infrastructure. The Nordic Gender Fund is a continuation of this work.
The purpose of the Nordic Gender fund is to strengthen infrastructure for research in the Nordic region. Support is given to activities to start up or strengthen
1) scientific networks
2) organisation of scientific conferences
3) scientific journals.
In addition to networks, conferences and journals, there is a category for ‘other activities’ that can be used for other types of activities promoting infrastructure. Support for projects aimed at individual research projects will not be granted funding.
A total of SEK 500 000 will be allocated this year. Eligible applicants are doctoral students or PhD researchers affiliated with a higher education institution in one of the Nordic countries or the three autonomous territories of the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.
The call for applications will be open from 15 October to 15 november 2024.
