Molecular Life Science
Molecular Life Science seeks to understand how the biological macromolecules that control the behaviour of living cells function, and how to address problems when their dysfunction leads to disease.
Molecular Life Science is a cross-faculty profile area which provides mechanistic and structural insights into basic life science questions with emphasis on the biological foundations for human health and disease.
Life Sciences at the University of Gothenburg addresses important biological and medical questions spanning all length scales from individual atoms and molecules to entire organisms, including the human body. Underlying Molecular Life Science research is the hypothesis that if we can understand the behaviour of biological macromolecules that govern the chemistry, structure, metabolism and intercellular communication of cells, then we can improve the human, animal and plant health in response to factors such as disease or external influences.
