The University of Gothenburg is the leading university in Sweden for studies in the marine sciences. As a doctoral student at the Department for Marine Sciences you will be a part of the Natural Sciences environment at the University of Gothenburg.

We have several nationally unique research projects, and our researchers participate in international expeditions. We also have access to an ultra-modern marine infrastructure that enables research at the highest international level. The University also hosts the Swedish Institute for the Marine Environment.
