Nordic LGBTI Fund
In many countries and regions of the world, the rights and opportunities of homosexual, bisexual, transgender and intersex people are under pressure. Although the conditions for LGBTI people* in the Nordic countries have improved over the past 70 years, several challenges remain here as well.
As of 2021, NIKK, Nordic Information on Gender, is administering the Nordic LGBTI Fund on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The Fund aims to stimulate Nordic co-operation in the LGBTI area within the framework of the strategic supplement to the Nordic Co-Operation Programme on Gender Equality and its priorities.
NIKK is a cooperation body under the Council of Ministers, placed at the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research.
*LGBTI is an abbreviation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex
