About Erik Andersson

I achieved my Master’s degree in International Relations in 1994. The same year I got enrolled for doctoral education, and started my PhD-project on financial markets and globalization analyzed within a phenomenological and post-structural perspective. During my PhD-training and after my defense in 2003 I lectured in Umeå, Gothenburg, Halmstad and Linköping. I have permanent tenure at the School of Global Studies since 2008 in the section for Peace and Development Research.

Areas of interestsMy research is conducted in post-structuralist theoretical landscape, primarily concerning Global Political Economy.

Current research My latest book is Reconstructing the Global Political Economy - an Analytical Guide published in the spring 2020 at Bristol University Press, podcast on this book and the Covid pandemic here.

Teaching and tutoringMy main areas of teaching is in Global Studies, International Relations, International Political Economy and Development Economics, in these disciplines I give courses and lectures on all levels. I am director of studies in the Bachelor’s Programme for Global Studies, where I do most of my teaching. I tutor bachelors as well as PhD students in their research endeavours.
