Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation

Welcome to the Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation Research! We work with research and education on rheumatic inflammatory diseases, autoimmunity, tumor diseases, and infections.

Our research ranges from pure basic research to clinical and epidemiological research. We have a close collaboration with healthcare, and several of our researchers work as physicians at the clinics within Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Since 2017, our activities have been designated by EULAR (the European League Against Rheumatism) as a ‘European Centre of Excellence of Rheumatology.
