Our goals
Our goals are to run a world-class research center for inflammatory diseases with a focus on translational research in collaboration with researchers in other fields.
Close cooperation with healthcare
The Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation Research has a close collaboration with the Rheumatology Clinic at Sahlgrenska University Hospital and with other clinics at the hospital. Several of our researchers work as specialist doctors at these clinics, which is also one of our greatest assets. Part of our collaboration takes place through the Clinical Rheumatology Research Center.
Through the strong link between our laboratories and clinics, we can transfer results from our research to better treatment methods for our patients and the education of students.
Awards
The Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation Research has been designated as a ‘European Centre of Excellence of Rheumatology’ by EULAR (the European League Against Rheumatism) for three consecutive terms from 2017 to 2027.
