Research interests

Processes influencing the local climate in urban areas. Connection between the urban climate and human health and well-being, focusing on vulnerable groups (e.g. old adults and children). The use of geographical information-system (GIS) within urban climatology and other (physical) geographical research.

Examples of research activities:

Development of user-friendly tools for climate sensitive planning applications (UMEP)
Spatial variations of potential solar energy production on roof structures in urban areas
The use of LiDAR technology within urban climate research
The influence of warm weather and outdoor - environment design on preschoolers physical activities and thermal comfort (link)

Leader of (in collaboration with Sofia Thorsson) the Göteborg Urban Climate Group at Gothenburg University.
