Our research
The University of Gothenburg is the only Swedish university with practice-based research spanning the arts from design, visual art, film and photography to craft, literary composition, curatorial practices and art education.
Our research contributes to environmental, societal, and cultural challenges through involvement in projects that cross disciplines. HDK-Valand’s research community recognizes a wide and inclusive concept of research where knowledges are produced in established research formats, experimental artistic practice and education. Current research is visible internationally through artefacts, exhibitions, publications, performances.
