Ship facts

R/V Skagerak is a Special Purpose Ship, designed to support multidisiplinary coastal and oceanographic research, education and commercial use. With 49 metres in length and 11 metres in breadth, the vessel is highly flexible and ready to meet the needs of both organisers and participants. Home port is Nya Varvet in Gothenburg.

Technical specifications

The research vessel (RV) Skagerak was built at Nauta Shiprepair Yard S.A. in Gdynia, Poland in 2013-2020 and completed at Falkvarv in Falkenberg in 2020-2021.
The Swedish flag ship is owned by the University of Gothenburg. RV Skagerak's operating area is sea area A (all seas) and the call sign is SEYD.
