About Lena Wängnerud

I obtained my PhD from the Department of Political Science at the University of Gothenburg in 1998 and became full professor at the department in 2010. Since April 2025, I am head of department.

Research 

My research focuses on politics and gender equality in a broad sense. More specifically, it covers three different areas: political representation, voter behaviour and corruption.

I am currently involved in two different research projects, one of which is based at Uppsala University.

Teaching

Currently (during my time as head of department), I am not teaching. My focus in teaching is otherwise on issues of methodology, and I am one of the co-authors of Metodpraktikan (Norstedts Juridik).
